Usage limits and AI best practices

TheraWeb's artificial intelligence features run on credits. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and you can buy extra credits whenever you need them. This page explains how usage is measured and shares best practices to get the most out of every credit.

How usage is measured

Each AI action (session summary, progress-note suggestion, treatment plan, support chat, transcription and marketing content) consumes credits based on the amount of text processed — what the AI reads (input) and what it generates (output) — multiplied by the rate of the chosen model.

The longer the text and the more advanced the model, the more credits an action uses. The charge appears in your balance after the action runs — there's no surprise charge before you use it.

What consumes the most credits

Long texts and documents: pasting entire records or several attachments at once significantly increases usage.

Audio transcription: long audio produces a lot of text and therefore more credits.

More advanced models: they have a higher rate per thousand tokens. They're great for complex tasks, but not always necessary.

Repeating the same generation several times: each new attempt consumes credits again.

Best practices to spend less

Be specific in your request: a clear, concise prompt usually yields a better result while spending less.

Send only what's needed: if you need to summarize a session, send the session — not the patient's entire history.

Review and edit the result by hand instead of regenerating everything: small manual tweaks don't cost credits.

Reuse what's already been generated: build on previous summaries and progress notes.

Pick the economical model when it already does the job; save the advanced ones for what truly requires them.

Choosing the model per function

In Settings › GhaIA you set which model each function uses. The screen shows, for each model, the rate (credits per thousand tokens) and labels such as economical, fast, advanced, vision and audio.

Economical models use fewer credits and handle most day-to-day tasks. Advanced models cost more but help with harder texts. Adjusting the model per function is the most direct way to control spending.

Track your usage

Your current balance is in Settings › GhaIA, along with the history of recent activity.

In Analytics you can see detailed usage per action (function, model, tokens and credits), useful for understanding where credits are going.

Mind the rollover: unused credits accumulate but expire in 30 days. It's worth planning your usage so you don't lose balance.

Need more credits?

You can buy extra credits at any time in Settings › GhaIA, in packs with bonuses for larger volumes.

If your usage is consistently high, moving to a higher plan — with a larger monthly allowance — is usually cheaper than buying extra credits frequently.

Limits and changes

Each plan has a monthly credit allowance and other usage limits (patients, users and storage), shown on the plans page.

Limits exist to keep the service stable and fair for everyone. Prices, plans and limits may change at TheraWeb's discretion, with notice through official channels. Use of AI must comply with the Terms of Use.

AI is a support tool and does not replace the professional's clinical judgment, who remains responsible for reviewing all generated content.
